You can find some of the best dog-friendly beaches just 15 minutes north of Cairns.

If you are in the area be sure to check out the following off-leash beaches.

Remember to always check the signage and use poop bags.

Even though the beaches are spectacular, there are dangers from native wildlife.

Talk to the locals for long enough and they are bound to share stories of crocodiles – always be vigilant.

The good news is there are plenty of choices when it comes to places to eat and drink at Palm Cove with many of the pubs and restaurants allowing dogs.

Popular choices include O’Donnell’s palm cove on the Esplanade or Vivo both with outdoor seating.
