Wine with a Purpose

Sit Stay Society Wines have raised a pawsome amount for pets in need with a whopping amount of $150,000 so far.

To celebrate this special occasion, they have launched a new white wine – Gracie’s Gewürztraminer Riesling – to add to their popular 375ml range.

Wine With A Purpose

We were lucky enough to try this fantastic wine with a purpose on a beautiful afternoon at the beach. The addition of Gracie’s Gewürztraminer Riesling to the Sit Stay Society range now means there are six delicious varieties to choose from: Ruby’s Rosé, Violet’s Grüner Veltliner, Mario’s Mataro Montepulciano, Max’s Cabernet Malbec, and Toby’s Shiraz Tempranillo.

This money helps PetRescue, a national animal welfare charity, with a vision of a future where every pet is safe, respected, and loved. Fifty cents from every bottle sold in the range is donated to PetRescue’s adoption programs and services, working towards a future where every pet is safe, respected and loved.

“We are incredibly grateful to all the wine and pet lovers who have helped achieve this amazing milestone donation. It has made a significant contribution to PetRescue’s programs and last year helped 51,899 rescue pets find new, loving homes,” said Vickie Davy, PetRescue Founder Director.

Vickie said that the donation from Sit Stay Society Wines had contributed to PetRescue’s national large-scale 2020-2021 donation program for pets in need, including, $670,721.57 worth of free pet food donated to rescue organisations, 200,601 dog coats to keep rescue pets warm and enabling upgrades to the PetRescue adoption platform to make it quick and easy to match pets with new families.

“It is wonderful that Sit Stay Society has now launched a new addition to this much-loved range featuring one of Australia’s most popular breeds, a Staffie, on the label. Staffies and Staffie mixes are by nature loyal and fun, and just like a delicious drop of Gewürztraminer Riesling, which features a blend of different grape varieties, they are often a blend of breeds which makes them a great, versatile pet that suits a wide range of homes and lifestyles,” said Vickie.

She said that with more people spending time at home due to the pandemic, there had been an 8.5 per cent jump in visitors to the website last year with 6,258,031 pet lovers visiting the PetRescue adoption platform and 275,788 enquiries made for pets available for adoption – one enquiry every two minutes.

“It’s fantastic that so many people are looking for a rescue pet to love and welcome into their home. It’s incredibly rewarding to be able to help facilitate the adoption process smoothly and easily to create homes for pets who need them, thanks to the generous contributions made by Sit Stay Society Wines.”

Sourced from the picturesque Clare Valley in South Australia, a wine region renowned for its award-winning wines, Sit Stay Society’s label designs pay homage to our doggy friends.

Now you can mix and match across the entire range and the dainty half bottle sizes make them a great choice for day-time picnics or a mid-week drink with dinner. Whether you are combining with a steak, charcuterie, or some light snacks, there is a delicious drop of Sit Stay Society to pair with any meal and the great thing is every time you pour a glass, you are helping pets in need to find a happy home – now that’s something to raise a glass to!” said Chris Austin, category manager – Wine BWS.

Mario’s Mataro Montepulciano is available at selected BWS stores. RRP $10 each.
