Newell Highway Pet-Friendly Accommodation
The Newell Highway – the longest highway in NSW.
What follows is a list of pet-friendly places to stay – from motels and cabins to van parks that don’t blanch the idea of pets at their property. Since policies can change overnight, it is advisable to call ahead. If you’re planning a trip from Melbourne-to-Brisbane, I hope these stops make it easier for you and your four-legged crew.
Inland via the Newell Highway A39 – Melbourne to Brisbane
Using this route you could stop at Strathmerton, Goondiwindi, Narranderra, West Wyalong, Forbes, Parkes, Dubbo.
Shepparton
Wakiti Creek Resort

Dubbo
NRMA Dubbo Holiday Park allows pets as does Tallarook Motor Inn, which is a 23 room motel with 1 large pet-friendly room. The room features brand new linoleum floors and has a separate entrance to the motel and own private car space in front of the room. It also faces large parkland on the banks of the Macquarie river – a perfect spot to walk pets after a long drive. Well-behaved dogs and cats are welcome. A maximum of two animals at a time.
