It’s getting closer to Christmas and that means there’s not long left for you to purchase a gift for a needy dog or cat as part of the Give a Dog a Bone, Keep Kitty Happy appeal.
Now in its 13th year, this great initiative is one we have been supporting for a number of years as it brings joy into the lives of those four-footed friends who need it most.
Based in Surry Hills, Sydney, Give a Dog a Bone, Keep Kitty Happy is a Christmas appeal that organises donations of pet food, toys or treats for dogs and cats.
The Give a Dog a Bone Keep Kitty Happy (GADAB) Christmas appeal is a chance to help those animals in need and there are various drop-off points in Sydney.
The donated gifts are distributed to over 25 animal rescue groups and community services that assist homeless people with pets.
All items are distributed to animal rescue services and community organisations in time for Christmas Day so no one wakes up to an empty stocking.
Drop your donations at any of these 28 locations:
Founder and Coordinator, Nicola Addison, says that “People love this appeal as you can so easily be involved and make a difference in the lives of the animals who may be doing it tough this Christmas.”
Nicola goes on to say, “My experience has been that people do care and do want to help. One person buys one item and passes the message on. ”

The appeal ends December 15.
