It’s not only people that love camping, but our four-legged friends also do too. You can choose from the best places to take your pet from a list of pet-friendly campsites in NSW.
Boomi Co-Op & Caravan Park
Located on the border of New South Wales and Queensland, north of Moree. Boomi Co-Op & Caravan Park is not only pet-friendly, but it’s also home to Boomi Artesian Baths, which are said to have healing and restorative powers. Many patrons visit the Artesian baths to relieve aches and pains. All types of pets are welcome to stay in the caravan and campsites. The park offers powered and watered sites, non-powered sites, a clean and well-maintained amenities building with toilets, showers, and washing machine plus a general store and takeaway which is open 7 days per week. The adjoining Artesian Baths complex has a 25m main pool, a children’s wading pool and the well renowned hot Artesian pool/spa. The caravan park is a very short walk (50m) through the tennis courts to the pools. Pets aren’t allowing in the baths complex, however, they can be tied up and wait for their owners on the fence between the Co-op and the pool, with a full view of their owners relaxing in the pools.

Byron Holiday Park

Reflections Ferry Reserve Holiday Park
Dogs are permitted to stay at this holiday park, which is positioned on the banks of the beautiful Brunswick River. While pets are allowed at tourist sites they cannot go in or near cabins, conditions apply. Dogs must be on a leash at all times whilst in the camping grounds. Guests can enjoy the surf beach, which is a 3-minute drive away, or fishing, kayaking swimming in the river.

Wooyung Beach Holiday Park
Located 20 minutes north of Byron Bay, this park is one of the few remaining bush camping grounds on Australia’s East Coast. Pets are welcome in the camping and caravan area, although they must be kept on a leash at all times in the park. The local beaches across the road are pet friendly and you can enjoy a campfire with the kids.

Ballina Beach Village
You are more than welcome to bring your pet to this eco-village. Located 4.9 kms from Ballina and offering budget to superior accommodation as well as powered and non-powered wilderness camping sites. The pet rules are simple, keep them on leash when in the village, pick up after them, no barking or aggressive dogs, no banned breeds. The beach in front is a national park, and not pet-friendly but there is kms of lovely leash free walks all around, as well as a terrific pet-friendly beach 10 mins to the south.

Maca’s Camping Ground
Well behaved dogs are allowed at this campsite situated 12 kms from Mullumbimby, and 30 kms from Byron Bay, offering powered and unpowered sites for travellers of all types and ages. Facilities include quality showers, toilets, kitchen and laundry available to campers.

Big4 Saltwater – Yamba
This popular family-friendly holiday park has a selection of powered and unpowered sites available for guests travelling with a dog. Three of the Banksia cabins are dog-friendly along with two of the Figtree cabins and one of the Casuarina cabins. So you can stay in either a studio cabin or one of the two different types of family cabins with a small dog up to 10kg in size. Facilities include a water park, swimming pool, playground, canoeing, BBQ, coffee shop and more. It is preferred that dog bookings are taken over the phone so the appropriate cabin can be allocated – no pet guests during school holidays.

Located just over four hours from Sydney, this park boasts a newly refurbished swimming pool, camp kitchen, barbecue areas, swing set, kid’s club, and shared amenities. Dogs and cats welcome in your own accommodation – not the park’s cabins.

Tyndale Tourist Park Roadhouse
This Caravan Park and roadhouse is located 12 kms south of Maclean and 30 kms north of Grafton in the northern rivers region of New South Wales. While dogs are welcome to stay at Tyndale (not in cabins) they must be leashed at all times. Birds are also welcome. Coopernook Forest Camping
A peaceful dog-friendly camping area that is located 28 kilometres north of Taree. The camping area can be reached from the Pacific Highway and Moorland turn-off. Facilities include bins, BBQ facilities, flush toilets, and note there is no power.

Stockton Beach Bush Camping
