Crazy Cat Café Gold Coast: Visit Tips, Sessions, and Cat Lounge Details

Located in the heart of the Gold Coast, just a few steps from the Cavil Ave Tram Station, you’ll find a true paradise for cat lovers: Crazy Cat Café.

From the moment I arrived, I could feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff greeted me with smiles and friendly conversation, making visitors feel relaxed, just like the cats who calls this place home.

Everything at the café is thoughtfully cat-themed, from the wall clocks and artwork to the menu itself. The café offers a wide range of beverages, along with a selection of merchandise, including clothing, stickers, mugs, and more!

The cat’s personalities

Crazy Cat Café is home to 24 cats, including two kittens. All of them are incredibly friendly, you can spot some kittens playing around, others peacefully sleeping, and a few gently asking for cuddles. Inside the Cat Lounge, visitors can find each cat’s name and personal story displayed on the wall, information that is also available on the café’s website under the “Team Crazy Cats” section.

The café offers two interactive experiences: The Cat Lounge and the VIP Lounge. The VIP Paw Lounge provides a private one hour session with 1 to 6 cats of your choice, including one free food or drink item from menu (excludes cocktails & spirits), while the Cat Lounge, on the other hand, allows visitors to spend time with all 24 cats, with the option of a half or full session, food and beverages are not included in this experience.

Proudly operating since 2016, Crazy Cat Café is the first fully licensed cat café on the Gold Coast. Whether you’re a local or visiting the city, this is a truly purrfect spot for anyone who loves cats. Session options and venue details are listed on Crazy Cat Café’s official site.

This visit was unpaid and unsponsored as of Dec 2025.

How to have the best experience (and make the cats like you)

This is where the café’s rules are quietly brilliant—because they reveal the truth most cat people already know:

  • Arrive a little early for check-in, rules, and briefing.

  • Wash hands on entry (they specifically note hand sanitiser can hurt cats).

  • Be calm and gentle. They note cats don’t like yelling or loudness, and that cats often come to you more if you sit still and relax.

  • No chasing or forcing cuddles. If a cat retreats to a private room, leave them to rest.

  • No flash photography.
