Planning a trip to Cairns and the FNQ?

A boutique private wilderness retreat and nature refuge, located 35 kilometres south of Cooktown. There are 10 spacious wooden bungalows with ensuites. Guests will enjoy walking in the rainforest and relaxing by the pool. If your dog is friendly, well behaved and remains on a lead, Mungumby Lodge are happy to ensure your pet has a great break too. Tropic Breeze Caravan Park
Only a short walk to beautiful Four Mile Beach and Port Douglas town centre. Pets are not allowed in the unpowered section, tents, camp kitchen, pool and units. There is a $50 cash deposit. When you make a reservation please inform the staff of the type of pet you have and how many – there are only allowed a certain number of pets in the park. Pets on a leash at all times and don’t leave unattended.

The Pond Cottage B&B
Expect a warm welcome at this beautifully secluded self-contained cottage in the Misty Mountains of Far North Queensland, which welcomes pets by arrangement. Notable features include a heated outdoor spa, a wood burning fire, and a platypus pond. Yungaburra Bushland Cottages and Lodge
Dogs, cats and birds are welcome to the cottages and lodge. Set in 8 acres of bushland bordering Peterson Creek, home to the platypus. Yungaburra is 743m above sea level and is situated in the heart of Atherton Tablelands, one hour west of Cairns. There isn’t a fenced garden so pets cannot roam freely, this is because of the wildlife. Dogs, on a leash, are allowed on Peterson Creek walking track. A $25 pet surcharge is required. Lake Eacham Tourist Park
Located over one hour from Cairns, this tourist park has 5 cabins, powered sites, and a lovely shady space for unpowered camping. Located in the heart of the famous Crater Lakes District, and close to World Heritage Rainforest Walking Trails. Cats and dogs are allowed in cabins – there is a charge $10 a night for cleaning.

Set in the suburb of Stratford, the property is only 10 minutes from Cairns City centre. The B&B is popular among returning guests due to its unique and hospitable atmosphere. Innot Hot Springs Leisure and Health park
Relax and rejuvenate in the natural thermal springs. Located on the Kennedy Highway between Ravenshoe and Mt Garnet, the park has a pub just a short walk away. A relaxing dip in the spring-fed pools in the park is most enjoyable and costs only $10 payment by cash or card accepted. While pets are welcome, they are only permitted on the campsite – not in the park accommodation. Facilities include toilets and showers, laundry (no dryers), telephone, kiosk/shop, gas refills, ice, barbecues, pool. There are 20 powered sites, 50 unpowered sites, the park fits big motorhomes, and has onsite cabins.
Next to the park, you will find Nettle Creek hot springs where you can bath for free in the healing water which was once bottled and shipped to Europe – it is hot though so not for everyone.
